Introducing one of our key hardwood suppliers, Fitzpatrick & Weller, located in Ellicottville, NY. This family business began in 1895 as a partnership between Frank Fizpatrick and his brother-in-law, William Weller. They produced shoe-lace blocks and provided shoemakers with finished lasts for making shoes. By 1965, the Murphy & Son Co. building was purchased, and a new modern sawmill was built. This enabled Fitzpatrick & Weller to diversify into saw-milling, timberland ownership, and component manufacturing.
Over several generations, the business has grown but remained in the family. It is now managed by Greg Fitzpatrick, President and CEO, who is the great-great-nephew of Frank Fitzpatrick.
The owners, management, and employees of Fitzpatrick and Weller, Inc. are committed to improving air, water, and soil qualities and to maintaining rare and endangered plant and animal life throughout our properties and operations. Forests are managed to meet the diverse needs of nature.

With over 100 years of experience in the wood products business, the company has prospered and grown under the guidance of five dedicated generations. Each generation has carefully managed the company's timberland. Their good stewardship of the land is demonstrated by their strong commitment to protecting the environment.
Sustainable forestry means managing our forests to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs by practicing a land stewardship ethic which integrates the growing, nurturing, and harvesting of trees for useful products with the conservation of soil, air, and water quality, and wildlife and fish habitat.
We encourage reforestation and foster sustainable forestry across all our imberlands and those of our suppliers.
At Vermont Made Furniture, we are very pleased to collaborate with a supplier who shares our values and commitment to stewardship of the land.
